Re: Flip Stall Rotation Connection

The release videos definitely help add some context and understanding.

It looks to me like 2 things happen. When you appear to swing harder, you do so by pulling in with your arms more aggressively. You can see that in the first 2 pictures. You do…

Re: P6 grip position

  By: Tyler F on Nov. 27, 2025, 8:43 a.m.

Hi Scott,

When analyzing the delivery position/lag checkpoint, there are a few likely culprits for the arms being behind at that spot.

Either the arms are behind the body/shoulder
The shoulders are too far forward compared to the arms
The hips a…

Re: Deep Divots and Divots to the left

Hi Rob,

With all golfers, I'd start at impact and the performance issue. In this case, Iron play and contact. If we look at your impact line, there's a few things causing issues. Your knees and hips are down close to the ground and your arms are b…

Re: Strong Grip and Low Point Issues

  By: Tyler F on Nov. 23, 2025, 9:58 a.m.

Hi Hb,

From a low point persepective, I would try to get a little more open with the body. That would help move the hands further forward in the face on impact picture. It is a strong grip, but looking at the downswing checkpoint, the club face is…

Sounds good. If you want some feedback on the single arm shots, feel free to post videos of them. It'll help us figure out what's going on with your release pattern.

Happy Golfing,

Yes, Looking better. I'd still say it doesn't look like a strong use of obliques/serratus, but it looks better and would be more functional anyway.

And yes, fascia is pretty amazing, I'm still wrapping my head around it too!

Happy Golfing,

It does look interesting, I'm a little behind on training aid reviews, but I'll add this to the someday maybe list. Training the proper scapular movement is really challenging, so I'm always on the lookout for a good training aid that's shoulder foc…

Hi Joey,

I think the unifying link is your arm action, more than your body action. I think you're more comfortable working on body ideas, but as long as the arms are that far behind you and not working more in front of your body through the releas…

I like the hammer fist backhand, but the hand arm pass the shoulder too much. You want more of the hit to come from your ribs rather than your arm. Figure that out and you're on to something.

It's okay, I'm sure it won't be the last time we talk ab…

Re: Forward Flexion Transition

  By: Tyler F on Nov. 20, 2025, 9:15 a.m.

Hi Garrett,

I think what you're struggling with is a common challenge for golfers. I'd call it balancing your steeps and shallows. Tilting back and early extension are both adding extra shallowness to your swing, which means there has to be extra …

You might be referring to my neck bracing video, https://www.golfsmartacademy.com/golf-instruction/neck-bracing/

It looks like you're doing it more with axis tilt of the hips rather than the upper thoracic spine and neck. One sign is that the trail…

Re: 6 iron and driver

  By: Tyler F on Nov. 20, 2025, 9:06 a.m.

Hi Joseph,

Yes, looks like you're making progress on both the early extension and the tilt back. Good job. The turtle shell is not the easiest to figure out on your own, but looks like that, combined with the impact window is helping you clean up …

Re: Shanking Half Wedges

  By: Tyler F on Nov. 13, 2025, 7:44 a.m.

Hi Patrick,

Sorry I missed this one. Heel contact primarily comes from the body moving into the golf ball or the arms widening the radius. Most golfers who struggle with toe contact pull the arms in (narrowing radius) and either stand up or hang b…

I haven't seen it, can you post a link?

Globally, looking much better. Especially right arm. There are a couple of related things that you could work on if you were searching:

Lead arm rotation through impact. This can be a tough one, but really helpful for anti left and flat spot mechan…
