Re: Transition check?

  By: Tyler F on Dec. 18, 2025, 5:26 a.m.

Hi Zach,

P6 is a good checkpoint for transition moves. It doesn't guarantee a good release and bracing, but it does help allow a good release to happen. If we were trying to refine p6, we'd potentially want to explore moving the red line to the yel…

Re: Connecting motorcycle move to ulnar deviation

Hi Pettteri,

I often say, "your body can only work as well as your arms, and your arms only as well as your body." I think your arms are fairly good and can't get much better until you improve your body work. I think you have two big opportunities…

Re: Trail Arm Stuck Behind Video Followup

  By: Tyler F on Dec. 18, 2025, 4:54 a.m.

Hi Kyle,

Welcome to the site and program! Good question about your own game. In general, I don't see why you couldn't do both. Work on the body positions and lead arm work that you're physically able to do and then work on the shoulder in the gym …

Re: AMG Critiques

  By: Tyler F on Dec. 14, 2025, 5:56 a.m.

With the golf internet where it is, I think we're at a place where you have to be able to discern which information is useful and which information is confusing or misleading. I think good golf swing is the overlap of good club physics and good biom…

No, I haven't seen it. I usually only see golf videos when other coaches send them to me. So feel free to post it here and I'll take a look.

But to answer your question, I pretty much ignore comments and commentary and just keep studying the body …

I'm guessing Cyril would be the best tournament golfer. Archer could hit all the shots but he might make too many stupid choices to win consistently.

As far as the left miss, I'd tend to believe it's primarily coming from one of two places. Either…

Re: Connecting motorcycle move to ulnar deviation

  By: Tyler F on Dec. 13, 2025, 7:54 a.m.

Hi Petteri,

Good question! The wrists can be tricky and everyone seems to have different feels. I do think the blend of flexion and ulnar deviation can feel unified since they share similar muscles and are coupled motions. Typically the motorcycle…

Re: Flip Stall Rotation Connection

  By: Tyler F on Dec. 13, 2025, 7:38 a.m.

Hi Joey,

The hackmotion might show something, but it wouldn't be a concrete form of feedback. To me it looks like the release issue is more related to the shoulders than the wrists. They are related though. You might find feedback in the pattern o…

Re: Casting with HackMotion

  By: Tyler F on Dec. 13, 2025, 7:30 a.m.

Hi Mark,

No apologies needed. As far as the cast and the ulnar deviation, it shouldn't, but it might require looking at the whole picture, not just the casting of the wrists. Many tour pros have early ulnar deviation with the lead wrist, but don't…

I used to love watching Archer, thanks for the laugh.

I like the second clip, with the pump rehearsal, the best. The last clip is a little more arm dominant in transition, which gives you a little path issue on that shot.

The video from your sess…

Re: Push vs. Pull with lead leg

Hi David,

I am a believer that there are no right and wrong feels, what we feel depends on our body and swing. https://www.golfsmartacademy.com/golf-instruction/comparing-your-pattern-model/

I think there are some things you could work on in tran…

Re: Scapula Movements

  By: Tyler F on Dec. 6, 2025, 8:14 a.m.

Hi Joey,

I agree with you that describing the shoulder blade movement is tricky. It's easy in gym exercises and testing to isolate each movement, but they are often blended in practice. the goal of the wipe is to engage the abs and serratus anteri…

Re: P6 grip position

  By: Tyler F on Dec. 6, 2025, 8:07 a.m.

Hi Scott,
It does look like the body is a little closed at delivery position. You can see how the hips and chest are pointing in roughly the same direction, not a lot of spine rotation. That has a big impact on the look of how much the hands are in …

Re: 6 iron and driver

Hi Joe,

I had a good Thanksgiving, thanks. I hope you did too. It seems like downtime opens up the door for thinking about the golf swing :)

  1. For wider and deeper checkpoints, see the arrows I added to the screenshots from Oct 5th. They are rough…
