I usually get to answer questions about once or twice a week, but it can vary with holidays and travel and such. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for posting your swing.
A few things to consider.
If you wanted to get a little more compression on your irons, then you'll need to get a bit more body turn at impact. But, if you look at your delivery position, with lower level body turn, …

Sometimes, taking the game to the course is a battle. When describing implementing a swing change, Tiger said, "first I understand it, then it looks better, then it feels better, then it performs on the range, then it performs on the course, then it…

Yea, all that matters is that the visuals resonate with you and get you to make progress. I will say, that it could be helpful to imagine the changing axis instead of a fixed tilted axis. That way your image can include side bend and extension as we…

Hi Michael,
If I'm not sure where to start, then my normal order is to work on solid contact first. So I'd start by looking at low point control to help with the fat shots, thin shots, and shanks. Maybe you could post a video of your swing. Then w…

Hi Ryan,
Without seeing your swing, there will be some guessing. So if you want to get to the bottom of it, I'd suggest posting a video of face on and DTL. There are a few possibilities. You could be lacking in side bend. You could be staying flex…

Hi William,
I think your description and swing match that of a pull hook, caused by getting a little steep at the bottom. I think you could work on the top of the backswing, but it looks like when you got less flat in the backswing, it caused you …

It does look like you're trending in a good direction. Impact alignments are looking better.
If you keep the wrist angle longer into the downswing, then some good swings to look at for inspiration are Ryan Fox, or joaquin niemann. Also, I still th…

I think you have it nailed. It looks like a release issue with the common pattern of misses (high ball flight, left misses, contact issues). So, if I were you, I'd work on my release with 9-3's as the main practice focus.
In the attached DTL pictu…

Hi Robert,
The most common cause of the two-way miss is the "steep early/shallow late" downswing pattern. I have a video in the Build My Stock Swing Course that highlights this. (https://www.golfsmartacademy.com/courses/build-my-stock-swing/steep-…

Hi Marty,
I think it's quite common for golfers to develop a swing they think is "wrong". The motion isn't as intuitive as those in many other sports. I think there are a number of good components in your swing. You do a pretty good job of maintai…

Hi Ryan,
Yes, I think the driver highlights your tendency to get dominant with the arms. Here's a video on what I think helps create consistent driving. https://www.golfsmartacademy.com/golf-instruction/analysis-video-driver-flat-spot/
That video…

Sorry for the delay, I was traveling recently.
A shank can come from a handful of patterns. Some of the most common culprits are:
- moving into the golf ball
- moving the upper body down excessively during the downswing
- handpath getting too much…

Feeling more internal rotation of the lead shoulder, or keeping the lead elbow pointing right of the target longer. It can help with avoiding the lead arm pull pattern. Like the picture of Brooks below.

Definitely on the right track, take a look at the two photos below. Arm is straighter, chest and hips are both turned much more.
As far as shallowing the downswing, I think there are two directions to try. The lead wrist gets a little cupped at th…
