Re: Sensei check-in/encouragement for program beginners

  By: Zach F on July 14, 2024, 7:14 a.m.

Gotcha! The ‘trail arm behind’ phenomenon seems to happen throughout the whole downswing, but if I focus on the release aspect, transition seems to take care of itself. I’ll be working on supported wipes.
You used the word ‘nuance’ to describe Jake …

Sensei check-in/encouragement for program beginners

  By: Zach F on July 6, 2024, 8:11 a.m.

Hi Tyler!
It’s been a minute; I just wanted to check in with you and get your approval for my newest ventures.

Following the rule of 3s, I just broke 85 three times in a row for the first time since I started to implement changes from GSA 8 months …

Physical or conceptual reasons for not being able to translate baseball rotation

  By: Zach F on May 28, 2024, 2:31 p.m.

Hi Tyler!

I bought a rope bat for my daughter who’s in softball, and I’ve been using it in an effort to cross train my impact rotation across sports disciplines. Using the rope bat, I’ve managed to achieve impact conditions(disassociation, rotation…

Holy cats I’m stubborn!!

So I finally tucked an item into my trail armpit. Yes sir, you were right.

I really appreciate you man.

Swing path curvature from the golfer’s perspective

Hi Tyler!

Are you familiar with a device called the
Putting Arc?
If not, or for those who may not be, it’s a plastic barricade that prescribes the “perfect” inside to inside putting stroke as the heel of the putter head glides along the device.

Th…

Thank you Tyler!! I’m working on shallow, cut stingers in the backyard, and I think the body disassociation is coming along.

T-Rex UD gone too far?

  By: Zach F on May 1, 2024, 4:55 p.m.

Hi Tyler! I think I may have taken the T-Rex UD a bit too far here; any recommendations as to where to focus? It looks to me like my right elbow is too flexed and my hands too high at P6. You can see why I was working on it in the DTL still image - …

Power sources and their influences on the forces within the hands

  By: Zach F on April 29, 2024, 9:04 a.m.

Hi Tyler!

I have a question regarding dynamic forces within the grip during transition.

As I’ve been endeavoring to change my power source and observing my hands on the club, I’ve noticed that my previous tendency has been to perform what I’ll cal…

Re: Understanding the Downswing

“An iterative process…”

I find that both bleak and comforting.

I used a windfall to purchase a years’ subscription, and I’m finding it immensely helpful to start your online STS program in order from the very beginning. Much like you describe Siec…

Understanding the Downswing

  By: Zach F on April 2, 2024, 8:06 p.m.

Hey Tyler!

Remember in The Little Red Book when Harvey asks Ben and Tom to keep a journal of what they’re working on, and the pupils come to realize they work on the same things in a cycle? I’m back on UD, so that makes one cycle for me. In honor o…

Braking Mechanisms

  By: Zach F on March 30, 2024, 7:09 p.m.

Hi Tyler!

I recently stumbled across a nest of Stack and Tilters on Instagram, and I found most of the stuff to be very stylistically interesting but maybe not very applicable to the Stock Tour Swing. One thing that did stick with me though is the …

Holy Thoracic Spine Extension While Feeling Shoulders 30 Degrees Closed Through the Strike, Batman!!

  By: Zach F on March 30, 2024, 7:04 a.m.

I dunno how many times a guy can go all the way back to the drawing board in this game, but I seem determined to find them all.

This looks better.

Re: Body driven steep shaft?

  By: Zach F on March 29, 2024, 8:22 a.m.

Ok. Looking at it through new eyes I believe I understand shallowing on a deeper level. You can still do it with the arms looping over, like Ernie or Snead. You can’t find that many examples of tour pros doing it the other way because there just ar…

Re: Hi Tyler!(no rush)

  By: Zach F on March 25, 2024, 7:22 p.m.

I see…. I was trying to be reductionist but in the process I oversimplified things. I confess I still don’t comprehend the body movements in the release in a way that I can visualize them individually in detail.

Editors note- none of this truly app…
