Thoughts on Putting Rhythm, Feel

Hi Tyler. I am member. I have a question. Your video on the Sasho two step has elevated my irons, hybids and fairway woods. During my practice swing I simpy say at the end of the backswing Step, SWING, ground. Then I step up and think the same thing on my actual swing.
Those words have helped me sync up my swing with excellent results. Now I'd like to do the same thing for my putting especially my short ones. Can you recommend a specific video for short putts or suggest a few words I can use when I'm getting ready to hit my short putts that can provide a rhythm or process like the 2 step. Just thinking back and through doesn't work great. Generally my putts never make it to the hole. Always short. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Larry,

I'm glad you have a good mantra for your full swing that triggers a good rhythm and low point. The trick for short putts is that it's mostly about geometry, more so than tempo/rhythm. Most pros practice with highly specific feedback to work on their start line. Chalk lines, string, putting mirrors, and gates are all common ways of working on their alignment and start line (see attached video). That said, if it's more about the pace, then I think this video might help.

I think it's helpful to break down putting into start line, speed control, green reading. That way you can prioritize the element that is hurting you the most. Feel free to post a video of your putting stroke if you want more specific feedback.

Happy Golfing,

Happy golfing,
Tyler

Thanks Tyler for the good info on putting. I’m been using the Sasho two step which has helped my transition into the downswing but still have issue with early extending/blocking right or not being able to turn well through the shot. Can you attached some videos where it shows how to get the left side out of the way. Specifically how to and when to get my left hip and left shoulder behind me so the right side can fire through to the finish! Thanks
