Internal rotation of trail shoulder in backswing? ¶

Hi Tyler!
I was watching an analysis of Collin Morikawa’s golf swing and the instructor pointed to the internal rotation of his trail shoulder as one of the primary steepening agents in his backswing(along with his limited hip turn). That struck me, as I’d only ever considered the external rotation of that shoulder in the downswing. In your view, is there potential therapeutic benefit to consciously preserving some internal rotation going back in order to help maintain posture and keep the hands forward of the trail ribs?
TIA,
Zach
