I had a question come in from a member that I wanted to share. He said:

"I’m trying very hard to understand the relationship between hip turn and posting on the left leg. Does posting end the hip turn? Sequencing the two? How does too much hip motion turn into spinning and when do you start the post? As you can see I don’t understand the connection. I hope everything is well with you"

My response:

"The short answer is that posting on the lead leg (or straightening the lead leg) is happening while the hips are turning. It finishes before the hips finish turning. So the sequence is that the hips start rotating, while they are rotating, the lead leg straightens, but the hips continue rotating and finish rotating after the leg straightens.

Spinning, usually refers to when the upper body, especially the shoulder blades are rotating too much before impact. "
