Adjusting for Hardpan

To avoid the painful misses off the hardpan, play the ball back with the heel off the ground.

When playing off hardpan, you want to avoid blading it or chunking it with the leading edge digging into the dirt. One way to avoid this is to play the ball slightly back but then set up with the heel off the ground. The other swing adjustment that you'll want to make is making sure to hit it more with your pivot rather than a stall and throw.
