This next drill is to help you start the ball online. It also incorporates
2
00:00:06.400 --> 00:00:10.880
working on hitting the ball in the sweet spot. And basically what you're going
3
00:00:10.880 --> 00:00:10.940
to
4
00:00:10.940 --> 00:00:15.600
do is you're going to set up a gate with two T's just outside your putter head
5
00:00:15.600 --> 00:00:20.360
width so that you would not be able to either miss the putt on the heel or the
6
00:00:20.360 --> 00:00:24.280
toe. It'll force the putter to come back straight through. Tigers use this
7
00:00:24.280 --> 00:00:24.520
drill
8
00:00:24.520 --> 00:00:28.680
a lot. It's one of my favorites as well. You can either do this with a hole or
9
00:00:28.680 --> 00:00:35.080
what I actually prefer is to take another T and stick it in the ground
10
00:00:35.080 --> 00:00:40.000
about a foot away. So basically what you're going to do is if you hit this
11
00:00:40.000 --> 00:00:43.520
dead square into the center of the T the ball will bounce straight back towards
12
00:00:43.520 --> 00:00:47.360
you. If you miss it slightly off to one side or the other it will bounce
13
00:00:47.360 --> 00:00:47.760
towards
14
00:00:47.760 --> 00:00:53.320
that side. Ideally you want to try to find a perfectly flat putt. This one does
15
00:00:53.320 --> 00:00:57.840
have a tiny bit of break to it so we'll see how I can do. So you start off with
16
00:00:57.840 --> 00:01:02.800
the ball just in front of the T's and you're going to go through your normal
17
00:01:02.800 --> 00:01:10.080
alignment setup process and then if you hit the stroke you should hit the T. It
18
00:01:10.080 --> 00:01:10.280
's
19
00:01:10.280 --> 00:01:16.400
a foot in front. The further out you have the T the harder it is and
20
00:01:16.400 --> 00:01:17.160
essentially
21
00:01:17.160 --> 00:01:21.680
the better you can get there's a pretty good one. The better you can get it
22
00:01:21.680 --> 00:01:25.720
starting the ball online and the T is a much better indicator than having an
23
00:01:25.720 --> 00:01:32.480
entire hole to aim at. The more likely you are to be reliant on the other two
24
00:01:32.480 --> 00:01:35.120
scales. Being able to read the green because we know we can start it online
25
00:01:35.120 --> 00:01:41.000
and hit the proper pace. So give that one a try. It's one of my favorites for
26
00:01:41.000 --> 00:01:46.520
rehearsing and fine-tuning starting the ball online.
