- Practice keeping your back to the target longer for better club control.
- Develop a more inside-out swing to gain distance and accuracy.

00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:04.680
This is the gate drill and it's a good visual drill for helping you overcome
2
00:00:04.680 --> 00:00:04.920
the
3
00:00:04.920 --> 00:00:10.380
cast or upper body dominant swing pattern. So what I've done here is I've I'm
4
00:00:10.380 --> 00:00:13.960
setting up to my golf ball and I've taken an object in this case I've used head
5
00:00:13.960 --> 00:00:19.560
covers but you can use tees golf balls swim noodles anything to just create a
6
00:00:19.560 --> 00:00:23.760
little visual barrier. So what I did was I took one and I put it about a foot
7
00:00:23.760 --> 00:00:27.480
behind the golf ball and a few inches forward and then I took one and put it
8
00:00:27.480 --> 00:00:32.240
about a foot in front of the golf ball and a few inches towards me. What this
9
00:00:32.240 --> 00:00:32.440
is
10
00:00:32.440 --> 00:00:37.240
done is this is created the visual of a gate that I want the club to swing
11
00:00:37.240 --> 00:00:41.640
directly through. So if I were to set up to the golf ball go to the top of the
12
00:00:41.640 --> 00:00:45.520
swing and do the upper body dominant swing pattern you could see that the club
13
00:00:45.520 --> 00:00:50.480
would probably hit both of these two objects. So what you're gonna try to do
14
00:00:50.480 --> 00:00:54.200
is when you bump you're gonna try to keep your back to the target longer and
15
00:00:54.200 --> 00:00:58.720
you'll feel like the club or you'll see the club swing a little bit more out to
16
00:00:58.720 --> 00:01:03.920
right field through this nice gate. This is a good drill that you can do where
17
00:01:03.920 --> 00:01:07.720
you're actually hitting golf balls and getting used to the path of a club
18
00:01:07.720 --> 00:01:08.720
coming
19
00:01:08.720 --> 00:01:12.920
through more from the inside. This should help a lot with overcoming the
20
00:01:12.920 --> 00:01:16.400
visual barrier and if you can learn to go from outside to inside if you
21
00:01:16.400 --> 00:01:16.680
remember
22
00:01:16.680 --> 00:01:20.920
from the overview video that can produce tremendous gains and distance so this
23
00:01:20.920 --> 00:01:26.920
could be your one magic drill for gaining that 20, 30, 40 yards. So this is the
24
00:01:26.920 --> 00:01:29.920
gate drill it's one of the best for learning the proper path of the club
25
00:01:29.920 --> 00:01:33.760
should swing through on your stock swing. You can do the 9 to 3 swings and you
26
00:01:33.760 --> 00:01:38.200
can actually do full shots with this working on the visual of how the club is
27
00:01:38.200 --> 00:01:40.840
going to swing through.
