Resistant Early Extension

Tyler - I know this forum isn’t meant to be a catch all for swing analysis, but In struggling hard. I can’t seem to crack the early extension. Here are updated swings. I just can’t seem to figure out how to keep right arm bent without also bending left arm which causes me to get narrow and steep.

Hi Garrett,
Sorry for the delay, was traveling and fell behind. This forum is meant to be a supporting platform to your quest to understand your own swing pattern. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of things.
I would tend to put you more in the arm throw category rather than an early extension category. Your early extension looks fairly minor, and a compliment to the arm throw, rather than a driver of it. Here's a video explaining my thoughts better, thanks for your patience,

I think I understand now and appreciate your time on this journey. How do I keep the right shoulder down and back rather than up and forward? Any videos/drills you’d recommend? Separately do you think an idea of extending the right arm down the line versus at the ball would help keep the right shoulder quiet?

Hi Garrett,
Our mantra here at GSA is, Play->Diagnose->Train. Once you have a diagnosis, you have to play around with feels and drills until you find one that moves the needed toward the way you want. So in this case, there are ideas related to keeping the arm bent, keeping the scapula more down, feeling more rotation in the spine. And yes, extending the arm more down the line instead of at the ball seems like a feel worth testing. Usually at this point, I try 3 or 4 things related to the movement and see which one works the best, is most playable, and feels the least awkward. Then the goal is to work on that for a week or two and reassess.
Some starter drills are:

https://www.golfsmartacademy.com/golf-instruction/trail-arm-stop-sign/
https://www.golfsmartacademy.com/golf-instruction/no-arm-release-first-cut/
See which one of those helps. If that doesn't work, then I'd try the single arm drills and video them so we can see which arm is likely the major culprit.
Happy Golfing,
Tyler
