Hey guys, just joined the program, excited to make some changes. Trying to work at getting better contact and impact position. I am fighting a hook at the range and a weak push fade when on course. I think I am over protecting the hook miss by not releasing when I play. Look at my videos I think I am flipping through impact and that is causing me the two way miss. Let me know you thoughts. also don't like how much I get on my toes I am not sure if that's related or not. Thanks Thanks.

After review my video a little more, and watching some more of the GSA videos. I think the first thing I need to work on is the early extension move. I extending my back in the backswing and standing up in the down. I think its mostly my upper back extending. I think that is leading to some issues that is causing me to clip and try and save the swing. Let me know if I am on the right path. -Mike

Hey Mike! Fellow hooker here, and welcome! You have a lot of nice things going on in your move. EE is a face squaring maneuver, so my two cents would be to start with the release, specifically single arm release training. To me your lead arm looks really good, so I believe you may find your trail arm is the culprit when it comes to clubface control issues. Check out Stir the Pasta; to me it looks like your trail shoulder is going into internal rotation too early, and that can bring a whole roster of issues with it. You’ll see what I mean in the DTL still where your trail shoulder is rolling in toward your chin, and the F/O where your elbow is pointed back away from the target instead of into your hip/stomach area. We’d like to be able to see the trail elbow pocket at this point. Specifically for you I’d look at: Single arm Releases Stir the Pasta Stop Sign Delivery and Go Hope this helps!

Hi Mike, Finally getting caught up after a busy month. I think that early extension is related, but I think for you it's secondary to the arms and shaft lean idea. If you don't really extend, you might have a hard time hitting the ball straight. I'd second Zach's comments and check out the release videos. You could dig into each arm, or you could try the shaft extender. https://www.golfsmartacademy.com/golf-instruction/shaft-extender-release-drill/ Good luck, feel free to send an update after you've given it a try, Happy Golfing, Tyler
