Hi Zach,
The squish the bug still looks like the core is disconnected from the lower body movement. Or rather, it's connected more in extension than it is through flexion/deeper core. Oftentimes I try to teach this concept through gym exercises first, it can be easier to feel it when you have a stronger load to move than the golf club.
