Hi all
Just seeing what you do to help people who are steep in early transition and the club falls behind the hands late from the force of pushing the handle out. I have very little success with improving the motion but am maybe approaching it wrong
Thanks for any insight!

Hi Cameron,
Great topic, it's a pesky swing issue. I typically focus on a few related issues, but the overall dysfunction involves too much upper body too early. This is usually from the shoulders and shoulder blades. Some common triggers are the lats pulling the arms down or across or the pecs transferring rotation of the body to the club rather than building a delayed whip.
I frequently work on the shoulders first, which usually entails the chest back or back to the target while turning the hips. Then I work on the width at the top of the swing. This is related to the power source being more of a chop vs a turn. It could involve more arm rotation at the top, less wrist set, more of a lead wrist flexion vs radial at the top etc.

Sometimes, in order to do this change, well have to work on the release/follow through first

I'd be curious if any other coaches have different process they use, since it is a major issue for a lot of golfers.
