Pulse for speed

Hi Tyler
In the tempo section of the Build your Stock swing course you talk about applying a pulse for speed rather than applying force for a longer duration .
Do you have any more information on this concept or how to work it into your swing?

Hi Mark,
Yes, that pulse idea comes from a feeling of activating the back vs the abs. When you activate the back muscles, they tend to create more force, but do it slowly compared to the quicker acting abdominal muscles. I think rhythms can be more individual than positional feels, so I'm biased somewhat by my own experiences. When I'm swinging the fastest, my swing tends to feel more bouncy rather than a lot of effort.
In addition to using ropes to communicate the feel, I also use a few drills to help communicate the speed idea. Here are two that often help:
